Amesbury and Boscombe Down Link is a registered charity run entirely by volunteers.  We do not receive financial help from any government bodies or agencies.  For the scheme to continue running we rely on donations from our clients to cover the cost of the journey.

Our drivers are reimbursed with a fuel allowance to cover the cost of using their own vehicles; we use the rate set by the government which is currently 45p per mile. The Link also have other running expenses such as telephone costs and stationery.

Whilst no direct charge is made by Link Schemes for the service they deliver, they do depend on the donations they receive in order to continue to operate.

Help Available

If you are in receipt of certain benefits, you may be able to claim some or all
of your travel costs from the hospital you are attending: Called the “Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme” information is available on the government's website

This could help fund your donation to the Link, and help the Link maintain the service we provide.

How much should I give? Clients will give what they can afford or deem to be a satisfactory amount.

When you use our service, the driver will give you a brown envelope into which you may place your donation, this will be passed on to our Treasurer. The driver will be happy to tell you the actual length of the journey.

Should you wish to make a donation to Amesbury and Boscombe Down Link, please get in touch using the methods outlined on the contact page.
